Quick Review

The Toyota Sequoia is a large luxury SUV, the largest in the Toyota lineup. For the 2013 model year, Toyota has added a blind spot warning system to the Platinum models, and all models now get trailer sway control as standard.

The Sequoia has the advantage of a very roomy interior. The front seats are particularly comfortable. Despite its large size the Sequoia is noticeably more maneuverable than many other SUVs. The Sequoia's four-wheel drive is another point in its favor, giving it the traction it needs to tow a boat or haul lots of cargo. On the downside, its extra mass reduces the Sequoia's fuel economy. The third row offers satisfactory space but the interior materials could be improved.

If fuel economy is a priority, you could look at the GMC Yukon. The GMC vehicle offers superior fuel economy. If an adult-sized third row is an important factor, the Ford Expedition is competitively priced than the Sequoia -- although fuel economy remains an issue.

The Toyota Sequoia is a good choice for a large family SUV. It's not especially economical to run but offers lots of room for passengers and cargo, plus the reassurance of long-term reliability.

The Toyota Sequoia is a very comfortable ride. The surprisingly good maneuverability is a plus, especially in the city. It’s definitely recommended for large families and luxury shoppers who don’t mind paying a little extra fuel costs.
