Quick Review
The Nissan Juke- Nissan's take on a mix between a hatchback and a compact crossover that boasts a very futuristic design. For 2012, the Nissan Juke has not undergone any major changes from the previous model.
Two engine variants are available, a four cylinder 1.6 liter engine and a 4 cylinder 1.6 liter turbocharged option. The non-turbocharged engine is capable of producing 117 horsepower and 158 Nm and is mated to a 5 speed transmission. On the other hand, the turbocharged variant is capable of producing 188 horsepower and 240 Nm and is mated to a 6 speed transmission.
In terms of the interior, the seats are big, comfortable and supportive. The colorful center panel and matching plastic on the doors do an amazing job of brightening up the interior. On the downside, rear headroom is compromised due to the sloping roof, boot space is pitiful and the use of hard plastics is just over the top.
From the exterior, it is clear that the Juke has a very unique style to it. It manages to look sporty yet not too vulgar at the same time. However, it is fair to say that the Juke's futuristic looks do not appeal to everyone and it would be difficult if not impossible to term the Juke as “love at first sight”.
If you are not sold on the idea of owning the funkiest looking car in town, you might want to consider rivals such as the Daihatsu Terios, Kia Sportage and Suzuki Jimny.
