Quick Review
The 2012 Honda Accord is a premium saloon car for reliable cruising – with a great resale value to boot.
For 2012, the USB audio interface is standard on every Accord model. The interior is excellent, with body-hugging seats that are comfortable even on long drives, with soft touch materials giving the cabin a luxury feel. However, the dash board is confusing, and the space in the back could be a bit tight with a full load.
Driving wise, the Accord is a great motorway car thanks to its soft suspension – though this does mean it’s not as sharp as the BMW 3 Series when the road is more demanding. The cabin is nice and quiet.
The 2.4L and 3.5L petrol engines are both good choices offering decent performance. However, it's the fuel consumption that what lets them down.
The biggest problem of the Accord is the price – it lands between the premium and mainstream saloon, making it expensive compared to a Ford Mondeo, which offers similar features at a cheaper price. However, it does seem competitively priced compared to an Audi A4, but lacks the premium badge. Depreciation should however be manageable due to strong residual value.
The Honda Accord is a strong saloon car, ideal if you’re a frequent motorway driver and put comfort first. However, it’s a tad expensive compared to its mainstream rivals – but due to its overall quality, it’s unlikely you’ll regret the decision to buy it.
