Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera heads to the Nurburgring

Lamborghini is relying on a tried and tested formula for its Huracan Superleggera: increased power and decreased weight. With greater emphasis on the latter, the Superleggera is likely to be based on the lighter, rear-wheel-drive LP580-2 variant, as opposed to 32kg heavier all-wheel-drive LP610-4.

The prototype spotted at the Nurburgring features a fixed rear wing, bigger air intakes and a raised position of the operatic tailpipes, indicating a jaw-droppingly gorgeous track-focused aerodynamic package under the camo. In addition to the extensive use of carbon fiber, the Superleggera is expected to boast upgraded wheels, tires, brakes and a stiffer suspension set-up.
Under the hood, the Huracan Superleggera is expected to retain the 5.2-liter V10 engine, but do with a hike in power by around 50 horsepower. The rumored 650 horsepower will be directed to the rear wheels through the standard seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

While we’re unlikely to see the Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera any sooner than at next year’s Geneva Motor Show, it is likely to dawn a price tag in the range of AED 1,300,000 to narrow the price gap between the standard Huracan and the Aventador.
