Hyundai launches flagship Azera sedan in the Middle East

Hyundai has launched its flagship sedan - the Azera - in the Middle East. The Azera, now into its seventh generation, has been the epitome of luxury offered by Hyundai in sedan form since its introduction in 1986.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Azera has a 10mm longer wheelbase and 50mm longer rear overhang. Overall, the Azera has a sleek appearance with frameless doors, auto flush-type door handles, and smooth front and rear lights. 

Step inside and you will be greeted by a premium interior with sound-proof glass (aided by noise canceling tires) and separable carpet. The center console features a 12.3-inch cluster display integrated with a navigation system and a 10.25-inch touchscreen just for air-conditioning and other controls. 

Two engine options are available: the 3.5-liter GDi engine and a 1.6 liter turbo hybrid engine. The former produces 295 bhp and 359 Nm of torque while the latter offers a total output of 177 bhp and 264 Nm of torque. The hybrid variant comes with Hyundai’s E-Motion Drive.

Safety features are aplenty with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 1.5 (FCA1.5), Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA), Blindspot View Monitor (BVM), and Safe Exit Assist (SEA) available.
