UAE National Day Car Decorations

Ahead of the 47th UAE National Day, which will take place on 2nd December 2018, Police forces from across the country have released statements on the do’s and don’ts that residents should follow when partaking in celebrations. With stricter laws in place, Police forces have announced vehicle decorations that do not meet safety guidelines can land motorists fines of up to AED 2,000, 23 black points, and an impound for up to 60 days.

“It is prohibited for drivers to hold their own rallies, to ride horses or camels on the roads,” said Ajman Police, as that traffic violation will be penalized with Dh500 fine, four black points and 15 days impoundment. Drivers who carry out modifications to their engine or exhaust for enhanced speed or noise will also be fined AED 2,000 and 12 black points.

Listed below are fines that motorists should be wary of:

- AED 400 for decorations that cover the number plate of the vehicle.

- AED 400 and 4 black points for obstructing traffic and not following road rules.

- AED 400 and 4 black points for causing trouble on the roads, also includes playing loud music.

- AED 500 for putting posters on the vehicle without permission.

- AED 1,000 and 6 black points for littering from the vehicle.

- AED 1,500 for applying more than the permitted 50% tint on vehicle.
