One of the most stunning, curvaceous vehicles on the planet today, the Maserati Gran Cabrios success is measured in the sweep of its suggestive hips, its come-hither front-end look, and its gloriously decadent leather interior, the GranCabrio is a connoisseur's car.
For the MC Sportline, Maserati designed it to celebrate the brand's motor racing successes and draws on lessons learnt on the track with the GranCabrio in GT3, GT4 and one-make Trofeo categories. Added to the car is quicker steering and a finely tuned suspension to make the Gran Cabrio Cabrio capable in the bends and its powered by the Ferrari-built 4.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 engine, producing 454bhp and 520Nm of torque, while power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed automatic DCT transmission.
With Ferrari's V8 the Maserati GranCabrio ticks off just 4.7 seconds on the way to 100k/hr, the sport-shifting automatic transmission blips the throttle and responds to driver requests with vigour.
Also, with the MC Sport comes a lightweight and vented aluminium bonnet, as well as 20-inch MSC Design alloy wheels and darkened headlights to complete the malevolent exterior.
Inside the MC Sport, the atmosphere is pure luxury, but despite the premium materials and old-world-meets-new-age design, the cabin is also especially useful. With four real, usable adult-sized seats, the GranCabrio is a rarity in the high-performance, high-style luxury coupe world.
