Quick Review

The 2012 Renault Megane has had a face-lift for 2012, albeit a very subtle one. It also now comes in three different engines and includes the fuel efficient stop and start technology. Exterior changes include a brand new front bumper, alloy wheels and daytime running lights in LED. Inside there is a smarter trim and the option of two tone leather. Rival competitors to the Megane include the Volkswagen Golf and the Hyundai i30.

The Megane is a family model with sporting looks which suits the younger generation too. The five door hatchback provides a great ride and it is very flexible, suited to the city and highway straights over long distances. Perhaps the only let down is the fact that you have to drop down a gear and give the engine quite a hard rev if you want the acceleration to be lively. The GT line trim comes with bigger wheels and the suspension is lower. The bad news is that this makes the ride hard, however on saying this there is tight control when cornering.

The inside of the 2012 Renault Megane is comprised of high quality materials but the downside is some of the controls are a little hard to reach. The driving position is very comfortable with a wide range of adjustments at hand and there is ample space in the front. The back has plenty of room for children but adults over six foot might be cramped. The rear doors are also a little on the narrow side which makes entering and exiting the vehicle tricky.
