Quick Review

The Honda Accord Crosstour has undergone minimalistic yet much required changes for the 2012 model which now comes equipped with Bluetooth, a USB port and rear-view camera as standard.

The Crosstour comes equipped with the same 3.5 liter 6 cylinder engine used in the Accord sedan. It is capable of producing 271 horsepower and an impressive 339 Nm and is mated to a 5 speed transmission. The Accord Crosstour achieves 100 Km/h from standstill in an applaudable 7.8 seconds. Compared to the Honda Accord sedan, the handling is a let down since the extra weight of the Crosstour can easily be felt while accelerating and taking sharp turns.

In terms of the interior, the standard Bluetooth, USB and rear-view camera are brilliant! Rear seat passenger get ample leg room and the large gauges are very easy to read. On the downside, cargo space is disappointing, the sloping roof-line limits head space for rear passengers and the rear visibility is pretty bad.

With the exterior, Honda have tried combining the practicality of a wagon, the spaciousness of an SUV and the platform of a sedan into a crossover and haven’t been very successful. The Crosstour looks dull and isn't very appealing to look at.

All in all, the Honda Accord Crosstour is a crossover that is pricier than it's rivals while being less practical. It is no surprise that it is almost impossible to come across one of them on the roads. If it's not exclusivity but practicality you're looking for, be sure to check out the Subaru Outback, Volvo XC70 and Mazda CX-7.
