Quick Review

The Ford Figo is a competitively priced subcompact automobile released by Ford India. After its initial success on the sub-continent, Ford decided to roll it out to a number of other international markets, to an outstanding reception everywhere. The Figo's smart, modern looks and modest price tag make it a great choice for the younger professional.

A large hatchback based on the European Ford Fiesta, the Figo is available with two engine types: a regular petrol engine and a slightly more expensive diesel version. The Indian version has a 1.2litre petrol or 1.4 litre diesel engine; for exports, 1.4 litre petrol and 1.6 litre petrol engines are available.

The interior is sporty and well-designed, as well as being reasonably spacious for a hatchback in the B segment. The seats are comfortable with a good height and plenty of support and Ford have really made the most of the legroom in front.

The Figo compares favorably with other cars in its segment, offering a relatively low price for a fairly luxurious interior and a pleasant driving experience. Fuel economy is competitive, with the Figo going 12.5 km on 1 litre of petrol. The car handles well, even at higher speeds, and displays outstanding low and mid-range response when driving in the city. The Figo offers a very smooth ride with low to moderate engine noise and moderate road noise.

Rival models to Figo include the likes of Fiat Grande Punto, Kia Picanto and Chevrolet Spark.
