UAE Ministry of Interior seeks to issue a decision making car seats for children under 10 mandatory for all drivers with kids, as reported in The National newspaper, UAE yesterday.

Child safety is an important issue in the UAE. Last year in April, Sharjah Police joined hands with Sharjah Ladies Club and Chevrolet to launch a campaign of child safety, as reported in Gulf News newspaper. Numerous campaigns have been launched by hospitals and other organizations with free car seats being distributed across the country.

While public awareness has grown, it is still not widespread which makes calls to pass laws on car seats stronger.
