Tesla Self Drive

Self driving cars are considered the future of the auto industry. While some people enjoy driving, many people do not. Self driving cars will first appeal to a certain type of car owner – the type who would prefer not to drive if given the chance. Before that future comes where self driving cars are a common sight on the roads of the Middle East, here are the pros and cons of these cars:

Pros

Safety: self driving cars can reduce traffic accidents, which means there will be fewer deaths and injuries caused by these accidents. Computers, software, servomechanisms, and sensors will take over the driving. With fewer traffic accidents, lots of money and lives will be saved every year.

Save Money: as the number of accidents is reduced, less people will be injured and fewer vehicles will be damaged. As a result, insurance rates will also drop.

Multitasking: when you are being driven by a self driving car, you can do other things while traveling. For example, you can sleep, eat, chat on your mobile phone or other device, work, etc. Your travel time will no longer be an idle time.

Independence: at some point, the elderly can no longer drive their own car. However, if they own a self driving car, they can still go to places without having a driver.

Less Traffic: self driving cars will not be caught in traffic jams. These cars communicate with each other, as well as with nearby road signals, construction equipment, and smart roads. Therefore, the car will know what is ahead before you can even see it.

Additional Parts: parts that are designed by humans may fail at some point. Of course, radars, cameras, sensors, and the likes have been around for some time and considered reliable tech today, but people cannot expect these to run 25,000 kilometers a year for more than a decade. Self driving cars will require proper servicing, and without control of the vehicle, technology failure can be quite dangerous.

Higher Cost: self driving cars have a higher initial cost than regular cars. High-tech innovations cost lots of money. So, when Tesla UAE and other self driving car manufacturers make these cars available in the market, expect that they are going to price them accordingly.

Driving Enthusiasts: some people enjoy getting behind the wheel. If they are not driving the car, it may take out the fun they feel while driving. Self driving cars are a useful travel device and for some people, it is an ideal solution. However, it may not offer the same kind of freedom as a regular car.

These are some of the points you may have to consider before signing on the dotted line and taking delivery of your self driving car in the Middle East.
