Fans know that popstar Taylor Swift makes a lot of lyrical references to cars in her songs. From her first single “Tim McGraw” to “Getaway Car” from her latest album, her music is littered with mentions of different kinds of cars: Chevy trucks and Maseratis and Range Rovers and Jaguars – cars that her ever-changing lovers are driving. Her music videos also feature a variety of cars, from the vintage silver Shelby AC Cobra she seemingly destroyed with a golf club in “Blank Space” to the gold luxury sports car she crashes in “Look What You Made Me Do”.
With cars having a prominent presence in her art, it is no surprise that Taylor Swift also owns an impressive collection of luxury vehicles. Here are four of the cars you can find in Taylor’s garage:
Toyota Sequoia
Taylor can be seen going around town and running errands in her black Toyota Sequoia, which is a full sized SUV, the largest produced by Toyota. With a 5.7 liter V8 engine and 6-speed automatic transmission, it generates up to 381 horsepower.
Other features include standard DVD navigation with backup camera, blind spot monitoring, antilock suspension, and a host of other high-level safety standards. The luxurious Sequoia costs around $650,000.
Porsche 911
Taylor’s Porsche 911 was first seen driven around during the era of the Taylor Swift-Taylor Lautner relationship. The Porsche 911 Turbo is an impressively powerful ride, boasting a 500 horsepower engine that allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 40 mph in a mere 1.1 seconds. The high performance sports car, costing around $100,000, is known to be one of the fastest cars in the world, yet it remains practical enough for Taylor to drive around in the city.
Mercedes-Benz Viano
Not many celebrities like to drive around in a van, but Taylor’s Mercedes-Benz Viano is still as luxurious as it gets. The Viano can seat eight persons or can transform into a cargo van. Estimated to be worth around $280,000, Taylor’s van gives her all that extra luxury and comfort as she travels around to run errands and make appearances at events.
Audi R8
Also driven during the time of “the Taylors”, Taylor Swift’s white Audi R8 is priced at around $180,000. The 7-speed Audi R8, available in both manual and automatic transmissions, has an excellent performance of 420 horsepower and a top speed of 320 mph thanks to its V8 engine. In addition, Taylor’s R8 features a distinctive curved bar of LED daytime running lamps mounted inside the headlamp casings.
Taylor also used to own a pink Chevy Silverado, a car her record label gifted her for her eighteenth birthday. The Silverado, with its 4.3 liter V6 engine, is a sturdy and dependable full-sized pickup, with an improved MPG and remote-start feature. However, Taylor donated her adorable pink Chevy to a children’s charity in 2008.
It is a bit surprising to discover Taylor Swift’s classy but at the same time practical taste in cars, but even as her image continues to change – old Taylor, in case you have not heard, is dead – Taylor’s affinity for cool cars is here to stay.
