New Maserati MC20 Supercar Coming To The UAE In Late 2022

Maserati reached the crescendo of fame well before many of us so-called car enthusiasts of this era came into being. In the several revolutions around the sun post that, this Italian brand has continued to churn out some of the most exotic and well-renowned sports specimens ever. Following the huge success of the Ferrari Enzo, came its doppelganger from its brother from another mother, the Maserati MC12. Following this (in the 2000s), many clients in the genre came to the doorstep of Maserati.

This swing of fortune wasn’t because they thought Maserati (often called “Masa” among the community) was any better than Ferrari. Much of the spin-around arose from the brand’s rich lineage that had seeped into the minds of the rich that didn’t want to migrate anywhere and stay loyal to Masa. However, now fans have to deal with the all-new Maserati MC20. So, what’s the MC20 all about? Let’s find out.

Does the Maserati MC20 look special enough?

At a measured length of just under 4.7 meters, the Maserati MC20 isn’t a compact supercar by any measure. But compared to its MC12 forefather, this Masa isn’t all that big in its external dimensions. Interestingly enough, the all-new MC20 weighs almost the same (and is lightweight) as the iconic MC12, at around 1,500 kg. However, does it look as magnanimous and timeless as it? Well, I don’t think it does.

Of course, the MC20 is not an average family sedan that will bore you out of your wits if you had to stare at it for a while. The purposefully-carved front presents itself with the intent of playing fair with aerodynamics and displaying (at least) some of that Italian flair. Taking pride of place is that trademark Maserati front grille with that fabulous trident right in the middle. The new-age LED headlamps then get along with the gloss black lower apron that get a splitter and twin air intakes.

The sides are decorated by those huge 20-inch alloy rims, the Maserati logo aft of the windows, scooped-out side panels, ubiquitous side skirts, and a beautifully-flared rear haunches. The MC20 also gets a multi-vented rear glass panel with integrated slits and an LED stop light that will catch your eye. At the back, this Masa features sleek and ultra-modern LED taillights that look super cool. However, there’s no active rear spoiler or a super-animated diffuser. Instead, the MC20 inculcates the practice of subtle aero works over the exuberant works that some Italian marques love.


Will the interior of the Maserati MC20 make you feel special?

The coolness of being inside a Maserati supercar drips into the interior of the MC20 as well. For starters, there’s all the naked carbon-fiber and enviably emotive Alcantara on many of the key touchpoints. The large carbon-fiber flappy paddles play second fiddle only to the fully-digital gauge cluster and the HD infotainment system that comes with smartphone connectivity along with a 12-speaker premium sound system. Not to mention, this cabin looks intensely modern and undeniably luxurious, in the sporty sense of the term.

When we talk about features, the Maserati MC20 gets a whole lot of them. For instance, this supercar comes with adaptive dampers, a 10.25-inch configurable digital driver’s display, a 10.25-inch touch-infotainment head unit with Amazon Alexa and Wi-Fi hotspot, a wireless charger, automatic climate control, drive mode control, and beautiful butterfly doors. Of course, when we speak about practicality in a supercar, we have to talk about cargo capacity (duh!). If you must know, the Maserati MC20 has 47 liters up front and 101 liters at the back – the duality is what matters right?

Is the Maserati MC20 energetic enough?

Motivated by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, the Maserati MC20 hones its fierceness with the help of 621 horses and 730Nm of torque. There’s some F1 trickle-down effect here, though it’s beyond the scope of this particular article. However, the end result of all the tech in this Masa means the MC20 can go from 0 to 100 kmph in less than 2.9 seconds, which is kind of insane.

Then there’s the top whack of this new-age Maserati. Keep that right foot slammed, and the MC20 will soon be clocking 325 kmph. Oh, the Maserati MC20 will smash past the 200 kmph barrier in well under 9 seconds. And after all that, when you think that all of this thrust just goes just to the rear wheels, those numbers sure do translate to some commendable performance metrics.

The Maserati MC20 and the UAE

The all-new Maserati MC20 is supposed to the reach the Middle East (and the UAE) in the fourth quarter of 2021. While the MC20 is already available in the UAE for customers to go over the supercar and its features, it’s not yet on sale. Before that happens, Maserati (via Al Tayer Motors) will conduct a Fuoriserie Program that will allow its esteemed customers to customize their MC20 to their liking. So, start saving up folks. This one promises t0o be quite a treat!
