Jaguar Racing unveil new Title Partner livery and organisation updates ahead of 2021 22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) joined hands with the illustrious British racing team, Jaguar Racing as the title partner prior to the 2021/22 ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Following this consolidation, the new team will now be christened Jaguar TCS Racing. 

This isn’t the maiden time that TCS has shown interest into a sports team since the brand has been thoroughly inflicted with participating into sports events as it sponsored several racing events in the past such as the TCS New York City Marathon, TCS London Marathon and many such large events where there was a participant galore. 

The partnership will be a long-term one from season 8 for the purpose of transforming the best Formula 1 car into a thoroughbred EV optimising its efficiency and performance. Through this venture, the company also seeks to exhibit electrification on a world level.

There are several changes which follow this rebranding. To begin with, a whole new paint scheme will be the embellishment for the Jaguar I-TYPE 5 race car for the forthcoming Formula E season. Secondly, the novel alliance gets to eke out doles from Jaguar Land Rover’s recently formed motorsport division which has been on grounds of its Reimagination strategy.

The JV’s goal is to ‘Reimagine Racing’ and use the sport in a productive manner to assess, understand, produce, team up and pass on the innovations of path-breaking technologies across JLR to build better cars for the future. In a nutshell, the things imbibed from this venture will be used to revolutionise Jaguar as an all-electric luxury brand by 2025, also the year when the company would put its foot into the Gen 3 era of Formula E.

The positions and the appointments have been decided as follows:

The renowned, James Barclay will be the MD of the brand Jaguar Land Rover Motorsport Limited along with his position as team principal of Jaguar TCS Racing. While Thierry Bolloré will be the chairman of Jaguar TCS Racing along with the already existing position of CEO of Jaguar Land Rover. 

The brand is adamant on giving a stellar performance as it approaches the final Gen 2 season. What it has in its arsenal is a pure expression of speed and agility, the I-TYPE 5 race car and two of the most skilled drivers Sam Bird and Mitch Evans who have made a comeback to provide surreal performance. 

The race car has been rigorously worked upon to make it faster, more efficient by clever management of energy. Also new for this brand, is Uncommon, the team’s official teamwear partner. Every segment of the team wear will be made out of sustainable materials taking a futuristic approach.
