The Mercedes Benz X Class is the name to grace many an online portal and forums off-late, sending automotive fanatics into a frenzy. Unveiled to the public in Stockholm, the X Class is the brand’s first take on a pickup truck and is hyped to be the world’s first truly premium offering in its class.

Set go on sale next year, the Mercedes Benz X Class (Stylish Explorer and Powerful Adventurer) shares its underpinnings with the legendary Nissan Navara and is expected to feature an all-wheel drive system, a high-torque V6 engine, and a towing capability of nearly 3,175 kg.

Volker Mornhinweg, Head of Mercedes Benz Commercial Vehicles was quoted as saying, “We knew what had to be done. A hell of a lot of work, but we learned from our SUV experience.” With a clear plan in mind, Daimler confirms that the X Class will not be just a restyled Navara with an opulent interior.

Studying its markets wisely, Mercedes Benz has opted to compete in markets such as Australia, Europe, Latin America, South America, and Africa - markets that are growing at a rapid pace – while avoiding the likes of the United States and the Middle East.
