Everything you need to know about the 2016 LA Auto Show

The Los Angeles Auto Show, which is set to run from the 18th to the 27th of November 2016, is a prominent event on motoring fanatics’ calendars the world over. Attracting hordes of enthusiasts since 1907, it’s a meeting place for likeminded individuals and automotive manufacturers alike. What follows, is a list of a few exciting vehicles that will soon adorn the 760,000-sq. ft. exhibit space.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio

Named after the Stelvio Pass in Northern Italy, the Alfa Romeo Stelvio is the brand’s first production SUV and shares a great amount with its Giulia sibling. Rivalling the likes of the Audi Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes-Benz GLC, it receives its grunt from a range of turbocharged four-and-six cylinder units, including the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 found in the Giulia Quadrifoglio.

Honda Civic Si

The Honda Civic Si has been a name to grace many automotive portals off late. With details remaining scarce, it is uncertain whether the Civic Si will be powered by a tuned version of the 1.5-liter unit found in the Civic RS, or a detuned version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine found in the Type R. What’s certain, however, is that it will sit below the Type R and will pump out between 220 and 230 horsepower.

Jaguar XKSS

The Jaguar XKSS, a sheer beauty of a vehicle, dates back to the late 1950s and is considered to be the world’s first supercar. Recreated by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations division, it’s a testament to the statement “old is gold” with aluminum bodywork and the works.

Nissan Sentra NISMO

An unlikely candidate in the brand’s line-up to undergo the NISMO treatment, the Sentra is a compact sedan that competes with American rivals such as the Chevrolet Cruze. Previewed some three years ago and spotted testing recently, the Sentra NISMO is likely to be powered by a turbocharged 1.8-liter unit chucking out 240 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque through a limited slip differential to the front wheels.
