2016 Lexus LX570 launched and our First Impressions

Al Futtaim Motors held a media event for the official launch of the all-new 2016 Lexus LX570. This ‘refreshed’ model includes the following changes:

- New look; primarily redesigned front and rear end

- 8 speed automatic transmission

- Redesigned interior

- New 12.3 inch screen and remote touch interface

- New LED headlights

- Pre-crash alert

- Pedestrian detection

- 21” alloys

- Sequential LED turn signals

- Available in 2 new colors

- Head up display

- Larger rear entertainment screens

- Lexus Climate Concierge

- Variable Gear Ratio Steering

- New driving modes

The performance of the car remains the same. However, the trim levels have been reduced to 3 – Premier, Prestige and Platinum.

First Impressions

Like the Land Cruiser event, the LX570 event also included about 20 mins of driving to get a taste of the car. Here are my initial thoughts:

- The car is heavy

- Looks are controversial

- Very spacious

- Steering is just right

- Gearbox is smooth for daily driving and punchy when floored

- The suspension is better than the Land Cruiser

- Brakes are spongy

- Interior is beautiful and loaded
