Honda Motor Company held an exclusive event for the launch of the all-new 2016 Honda Civic. The event was attended by Honda Middle East management and the members of the media (you can read more about the event here). The Honda Civic 2016 is the talk of the town these days. After initial spy shots came out, the internet went mad and the Honda fanboys couldn’t keep control of themselves. It is, after all, the icon of Honda in addition to the Accord. The 2016 Honda Civic features a wide frame that is lowered by 20 mm compared to the previous generation. The inspiration behind this new model is the European luxury compact sedan. The new Civic features best-in-class volume and 525 liters of trunk space. Moreover, there are LED headlights, DRLs, LED taillights, capless fuel system and a large diameter wheel. Coming to the interior, there is a 7 inch IPS LCD touchscreen that features live traffic updates in navigation and there 3D maps as well. There is rear a/c ventilation, foldable rear seats, remote engine starter, climate control, electronic parking brake, automatic brake hold, automatic rear view mirror, cruise control, multi-angle rear camera and sunroof.

The new Honda Civic ditches the old 1.8 liter engine in favor of two new options. There is a choice between a 2.0 liter inline-4 engine producing 158 BHP and 187 Nm torque or a 1.5 liter turbocharged engine producing 180 BHP and 220 Nm of torque. Both engines a mated to a CVT transmission. The Civic will be available in three grades i.e. LXi, EXi and RS. The RS will be powered by the 1.5 liter engine and will have all the top-spec features whereas the LXi and EXi will be powered by the 2.0 liter engine. The new Civic starts from AED 73,000 up to AED 96,000.
