Hidden Meanings Behind Automotive Brand Logos

Mitsubishi and its three-pointed fan, or Mercedes-Benz and its three-pointed star – it isn’t very often that we stop and question an automotive manufacturer’s insignia. Altered over generations, the logos we encounter daily, encompass years of history, heritage and several concealed meanings.

Audi

Like many automotive manufacturers, Audi consolidated multiple companies into a single business in the 20th century. While early logos show four company names each within their own ring (Audi, DKW, Horch, Wanderer), the text has disappeared over the years, but the interlocking rings remain.

Infiniti’s rather unique logo with two central lines, symbolizes a road leading into a vast unknown expanse – quite fitting for a brand that’s constantly redefining benchmarks.
